Evenin’ all.
*Nods at absolutely everyone. Then tries to stop head wobbling after protracted period of nodding.*
It’s been a mostly good day, here. There were early morning views of our local-ish 4th century BC hill fort. (Previous blog post here, from my very early days of blogging.) Hmm, can you just about see its stepped sides in this picture? It’s rather magnificent, and a pretty fine spot from which to defend the locality.

And there’s the new knitting project. My first proper grown-up pattern, to be published soon. For now, much secret-squirrel prototype-related activity is on the needles, especially at times when any sane and sensible person would be catching up on sleep. But it’s a secret, so you really must read this post in a whisper, OK? *Taps side of nose enigmatically* The finished product will look rather different, but look at these delicious colours!

More soon. But don’t tell anyone, OK?
Love the colors, can’t wait to see what you are up too! ?
Nor can I: it’s a little unpredictable how it will turn out!
I absolutely love the colour of the yarn you’re using <3
Thank you. I do love a pool of nice rich reds. 🙂
Beautiful!
It’s a stunning landscape in any season.
Ha! I was referring to the knitting! I guess my staying on subject threw you off!
Yup, completely discombobulated me. My knitting thanks you, as do I.
*whispers, I really like this one. I especially like the hint about whispering. My boyfriend just showed up with a pumpkin-spice mocha, saying “I read your blog.” I fell in love with him all over again, and had to tell my friends to whisper it as they pass it on, so as not to ruin his reputation;-).
Ha ha, this wins the prize for ‘best comment of the year’! 🙂 Thank you making me smile. You, your boyfriend, and your pumpkin-spice mocha sound very cool. 🙂
Love the pattern, too!
Wonderful hot spicy chili berry colours. Wow!!
Perfect for autumn. 🙂
Loved seeing the rolling green English countryside – haven’t seen it since I left in 92 – which is an aeon ago!! I used to drive along the Downs in Kent regularly 🙂
The colours are gorgeous – very autumnal!
You lived down there? Oh wow – such a beautiful part of the UK, and right by stunning coastline. We’re you there long-term?
Just over two years – teaching in a Steiner school there.
I love that secret knitting, especially that cheeky line of blue!
Thank you. Yes, the blue just sneaked in there.
Beautiful colours. And I am sure it will be a lovely finished product.
Thank you! It might be lovely… or it might be a complete disaster…
waiting in breathless anticipation 😉
😉
I love your seasonally-appropriate yarn colours and looking forward to seeing the finished project! I just wrote a post about the onset of autumn making me want to start new knitting projects, I think this is a knitter’s disease. Down here in Devon Autumn seems to arrive a little later than in the rest of the UK, but I am already feeling the urge to start knitting some cosy socks/gloves/jumpers/anything I can knit before next summer arrives…
Yes I think it’s an understandable urge to reach for warmer, richer-colour yarns at this time of year. Don’t fight it!
I have already given in to the urge and started on a shawl/scarf, and am thinking of a thick pair of socks after that, and then a jumper… so much knitting to do, so little time!
These are my sort of colours. They scream happiness, warmth and something just a little but naughty and spicy. Loving it x
Agreed, re the colours. 🙂
Both pictures are just beautiful! Can’t wait to see what you’re making! 🙂
Those colors are scrumptious!
This is going to be gorgeous; how could it not be in such vibrant hues? Intrigued about the pattern….:)
Beautiful jewel colors!
Beautiful and true colors of fall! Love your knitting!
