Hello far-too-lovely folk. This one's about Robyn-the-robin. I haven't seen her for quite a while... and the last few times she visited, she really looked her age. Sorry to be the bearer of probably-bad news, but I think she's gone forever. 😢 And much as I like to think my heart is cold and impregnable, I really, really, REALLY miss her bold and cheeky attitude. Today I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm fine, and looking on the bright side, I now have the perfect excuse to lounge on the sofa and knit even more than usual for the next few months. 😁 Normal silliness and yarniness will continue both here and on the blog, because that's just how I roll. Also, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO CROCHET A BREAST TUMOUR?! I mean, viruses look kinda cute and quirky under the microscope, but breast cancers are just BLOBS. So... I will not be releasing a pattern for this rather rubbish piece of crochet.

S/he's currently hiding behind various objects in the garden near his/her one - or possibly two - sibling(s) - also called Wilfred, because they're indistinguishable from each other. A friend and I are making nettle yarn, and one of the stages is to 'bake' the nettle stems for a few hours. Given this quantity of nettles, I would have needed to keep the oven on for a week! So here's my solution. It's 32°C out there today, and if I leave the car in the sun, I reckon it'll get more than hot enough. Fingers crossed.

Someone's beginning to get her red breast feathers. ❤ Unlike Robyn-the-robin and Robinson, this one isn't interested in mealworms. Instead she follows me so closely around the garden that I often nearly step on her. As I pull up weeds and move pots around, she darts in to grab caterpillars and other critters. Sometimes, one of the twinnage comes to tell me that she's waiting by the back door, so I have to go and do a bit of weeding, just to please her. So once again, I'm being bossed about by somebody three inches tall. *sigh*
