Would you like to win free tickets to the Knitting And Stitching Show? And even if you don’t win, would you like a nice chunky discount on your ticket price?
(Clue: the answer to both of those questions is a big fluffy YES!)
I know, I know: a fair few of you would need to zoom through the sky inside a long metal tube in order to attend. (It’d be totally worth the trip, though.) But for anyone who can get to London, the show will be on at Ally Pally from 11th-15th October, and I have in my hand FIVE pairs of tickets generously donated by the show’s organisers for you lovely yarny lot.

A couple of years ago, I posted about the show right here. Ah, the banana drop spindle, I remember your fabulousness:-
It was an awesome day out, filled with the sight of the most delicious-looking yarn:-
I’ll be visiting again this year, courtesy of the show itself. (Thank you, lovely K&SS people.) And y’know? I can’t wait.
Just in case you’ve yet to enjoy the pleasure, allow me to tell you a little about the event. It’s a mind-bendingly enormous show, crammed with yarn-producers and fabric-retailers selling their wares. You’ll find everything from big-name brands such as Stylecraft, to lesser-known indie producers of wonderfulness.
There’s fabric, too. Oh so much fabric!

There’s more to it than the shopping, though. No really, there is! There are dozens and dozens of workshops covering… well, just about everything. From broomstick lace crochet, to Japanese embroidery, to making polymer clay buttons, to knitting in wire, there’s a class on just about everything that your yarny or fabric-y heart could desire. Have a look at the full list here.
Of course I’m coming at this with my yarny bias, but there is just as much for the stitchers as for the knitters (and hookers).

Just in case you’re in need of inspiration for using all that yarn and fabric that leapt into your shopping basket, there are galleries of textile work to view, too. (Oh goodness, this post is really starting to sound like an advert. Sorry. But I do love this show.)

And once your day is done, you can stand outside the palace, surveying the view over London, as your heart fills with pity for your poor, abused, credit card.
Anyway, let’s get on with the giveaway, shall we?
There are FIVE pairs of tickets waiting to be won, valid for any day except Saturday. To enter, leave a comment on the bottom of this thread. To gain a sneaky additional entry, pop over to the ‘Yarn’s Facebook page, ‘like’ the overall page, and leave a comment on the post about this piece.
The contest is open from RIGHT NOW, until Tuesday 3rd October, 1700hrs GMT. Once the contest is closed, five separate winners will be randomly chosen by the inscrutable chap(pesse)s at random.org. I will contact the winners pronto, requesting names and addresses. The winners’ details will be passed to the show organisers so that they can send out your tickets. GOOD LUCK!
And just in case you’re not feeling lucky, there’s a special discount code for advance adult tickets bought by readers of this blog. Wa-hey! This will get you £2.50 off full-price tickets, or £1.00 off concessions. The code is THRIFTY17. You can use it here.
See you at the show!
A huge THANK YOU to the show’s organisers for supplying the prizes and discount code.

I would love to win tickets please!
I would love to visit Ally Pally again this year and my sister, who is an amazing knitter, always heads first to the Twisted Yarn Stall. She says that the yarn is not only good value but high quality and the staff who work on the stall are friendly and knowledgeable. I prefer to sew but she tells me that when I see the stock I will definitely be inspired to have a go at knitting. It would be great to be able to do so. Thank you
Um, you do know that I’m not a shop and there’s no such thing as the Twisted Yarn stall?
I would love to go to the show but alas live over the pond! There is another problem- I have 2 yarn obsessed daughters.. which one would I bring??
Julie
