Hello, dear knitters and crocheters, and runners, and my mum, and people who inexplicably landed here whilst searching for a blog about oxyacetylene welding. Come and sit with me beside the fire, because it's way too cold out there. I hope you've brought your yarn. (No, please don't start oxyacetylene welding in my sitting room. The blog you're looking for is that way. --> ) I've been reading about all sorts of bonkers meteorological shenanigans lately, from brain-melting heat in Continue Reading
2018β¦ Oops, I mean 2019
So here we are - another year. Another one. Couldn't we have stuck with the old one for just a smidge longer?* There's nothing like replacing the calendar that hangs on your kitchen wall to bring on a reflective mood. Pondlife
May I show you something? It's not yarn-related, but I do plan to spend a lot of time beside it knitting and crocheting. You see, I'm making progress on the wildlife pond. It's nowhere near done, but I've finished digging, and it does at least now contain WATER. One day soon, the edges will be concealed, the lawn will be re-turfed, more rocks will be added, and most importantly, some coir mats will arrive (from these marvellous folk), pre-planted with native water-loving vegetation. Then, this Continue Reading
