Good morning, yarn-loving friends.
May I bend your ear about something exciting, please? (It involves knitting and saving money: you’re going to like it.) Sorry folks: discount has now expired.

There’s a designer of seriously stylish knitwear out there and if she’s not already on your radar, she really should be. (Nobody is paying me to say this, I promise.) When I first saw her work, I gasped. I wish I could have shown her designs to the woman who once said to me, “You knit?! Oh… so do you make horrible, lumpy, jumpers that all your family hate?”*

So please, if you haven’t already, meet the awesome talent of Kari-Helene Rane. (She’s also on Facebook, here.) She’s a UK-based knitwear designer originally from Norway, and her work is just beautiful and elegant. All photos in this post are hers, used with permission.

Kari-Helene studied fashion design at university, and now she creates elegant shapes that perfectly flatter the human form. Look at this beautiful dress! I have a bee in my (knitted) bonnet about patterns with unflatteringly baggy sleeves, but Kari-Helene’s work is perfectly fitted and elegant. I seriously want to knit this dress to wear at work:-

She designs for women, men, and children. Most of her pieces are worked in one colour, and feature a bold design element such as cabling or lacework. How could you not like this?!

The exciting news is that out of the generosity of her heart, Kari-Helene is offering readers of this blog a massive 30% off her patterns, from RIGHT NOW until Sunday 20th August. Just enter the discount code TWISTED17 at the checkout. Her entire collection is here. You can buy individual patterns, as well as bundles/e-books. Go forth and browse, my fine fibrous friends…

∗ In case you’re wondering, no I didn’t say very much in response to this outrageous slur. The woman in question was tattooing permanent eyeliner onto my eyelid at the time, so the balance of power was not in my favour. But I think that you and I can probably agree that she is not knitworthy.

Thank you so much for this – what fabulous designs! I’ve just treated myself to 3 of them!
(And no, DEFINITELY not knit worthy).
Pretty designs. Shame I’m not young and am more into crochet! Is the bit about the eyeliner tattooing really true!!!!
Oh my, I think I want them all! Thank you so much for sharing the discount – I’m going shopping just as soon as I get home 🙂
My lumpy granny body wouldn’t look good in those slinky, fashionable designs… so beautiful for the young ladies with nice shapes to show off. I can’t believe someone said such a rude thing to you… great restraint on your part not to blast her.
I’m youngish (27) but quite lumpy and I made Icon – (the last picture in this post) for my wedding dress and loved it!
It turns out that I have already bought the Maddie children’s dress pattern! I will have to look at the cowls and sweaters later. Thanks to both of you for the discount!
Oh, they are gorgeous! My last cardigan experiment wasn’t a huge success but I couldn’t resist the ‘Isis tailcoat’ pattern. Now if I can just get a consistent gauge… 😉
She should be shot at dawn without any breakfast!
Thank you everyone for your kind comments! Very happy you like my designs!
Beautiful patterns!
I tried applying the discount code, it being the wee, small hours of 20th August, Ravelry wouldn’t recognise it. Ah well. I’ll just have to save up, though at £4 I think the Venus Coat is very reasonably priced.
Doesn’t work now either (11:11 BST). I guess it was set for ‘before 20th August’. :). Some lovely patterns here, and she’s local to me.
Those dressing are truly amazing! I wish I was skilled enough at knitting to actually have a go at them!
