Wowzers, that went quickly. A whole week has galloped past, and the Stylecraft voucher giveaway has closed. A huge thank you to everyone who entered, and to the generous folk at Stylecraft for providing the prizes. So shall we find out whether you’ve won? Oh, and may I just thank you for your kind comments (and name suggestions) for the sunset cowl. I’ve finished the knitting, and I’ll be posting the finished thing with a free pattern – and a name! – within the next week or so. 🙂 But let’s get back to the giveaway.
As usual, I shall consult the inscrutable chap(esse)s at random.org, in order to select the winners with complete fairness. Whilst I do so, please talk amongst yourselves. Also, would you like to see something gorgeous that my mum (Mother Twisted) has been making? Don’t worry, I’ll call you as soon as the giveaway results are in, so you won’t miss a thing.
Mother Twisted has been getting into quilting, of late. She hasn’t yet achieved what I’d regard as a proper level of obsession, in that she still remembers to stop quilting in order to eat and sleep, and she continues to acknowledge Father Twisted’s existence. But she’s keen.
She’s sewn all her life, so it’s hardly surprising that her quilting is impressive. I come from a longish line of – ahem – sewers who dabbled in knitting on the side (and I have the 19th century family sewing machine to prove it). So it’s been an act of mild rebellion against the familial zeitgeist to pick up a crochet hook, knit obsessively, and to never, ever, sew clothes.
Anyway, my mum has finished this piece of cathedral window quilting and made it into a cushion, and it’s awesome.
Mum, thank you for the permission to photograph and show off your work.
Oh! Oh! Look! The giveaway results have arrived! Shall we take a look to see whether you’ve won? Just to recap, there are three prizes, each of £10 in Stylecraft vouchers. Totalling the entries here and on Facebook, we have 145 eager yarniacs, which isn’t bad given that – sadly – only people with access to UK bricks-and-mortar yarn shops were eligible to enter. Thank you, one and all. (And don’t worry, there are more giveaways coming up soon, all of which are open worldwide – I HATE excluding people.)
And the winners? Step forward please, numbers 63, 133, and 96!
So who are the mysterious people hiding behind these numbers? Step forward, if you will:-
